Carter Efe accused the Headies of clout-chasing, claiming they ignored Mohbad during his lifetime but are now celebrating him posthumously.
Skit maker and musician, Carter Efe, has criticized the Headies Awards organizers for nominating the late singer Mohbad for a posthumous award.
He said in pidgin: “Why Headies dey misbehave now, them go dey nominate Mohbad? Wetin makes them nominate Mohbad? But when the boy was alive them no go give am o. Anything for the clout na him Headies go dey do.”
The nomination has sparked mixed reactions, with some viewing it as a well-deserved recognition of Mohbad’s musical contributions, while others, including Carter Efe, see it as a publicity stunt.
Remember, Mohbad won the ‘Best Street-Hop Artiste’ award at the recently concluded 17th Headies Awards.
