Osimhen donates N10m to NPFL champions Remo Stars

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen celebrated Remo Stars’ first-ever NPFL title by gifting ₦10 million—₦5 million to players and ₦5 million to the technical crew—after a congratulatory video call to the team, as confirmed by head coach Daniel Ogunmodede.

President Bola Tinubu also praised Remo Stars’ NPFL title win, calling it a reflection of the team’s hard work, discipline, and resilient spirit.

“The historic victory, four years after the team’s promotion to the elite league, is a testament to the hard work, discipline, and unyielding spirit of the players, the coaching crew and the management,” the President stated.

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun hailed the victory as an historic milestone for the state.

In a statement signed by his media adviser, the governor said, “It is my utmost delight that the age-long perseverance and consistency of Remo Stars Football team have eventually paid off at the national level and to the admiration of every Nigerian.” He applauded the club and celebrated its emergence as the first privately owned NPFL champion since Ocean Boys in 2006.

CAF celebrated Remo Stars’ win as a moment of immense pride for the club and the southwest region, marking the area’s first league title since 2000.
