The National Association of Kwara State Students (NAKSS), Kwara State Polytechnic Chapter, under the leadership of its President, Senator Ahmad Ishowo Abdulkabir wishes to express deep concern over the recent developments at Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin.
This was contained in a statement signed by the NAKSS President, Senator Ahmad Ishowo Abdulkabir and copy made available to Prime
Recently, students of the institution embarked on a protest to express their grievances over issues affecting their welfare and academic environment. Unfortunately, the situation later escalated, leading to the decision by the Kwara State Government to direct the Rector of the institution to step aside.
While NAKSS strongly upholds peace, dialogue, and lawful engagement as the best means of resolving conflicts, we respectfully appeal to the Kwara State Government, under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq**, to reconsider this decision in the interest of stability, academic progress, and institutional continuity.
NAKSS believes that the Rector’s reinstatement, alongside constructive dialogue between the government, school management, and student representatives, will go a long way in restoring calm and preventing further disruptions to academic activities.
We assure the government of our readiness to cooperate and to continue sensitizing students on peaceful conduct and responsible advocacy. Our association remains committed to the progress of education and the peaceful coexistence of all stakeholders within Kwara State.

We don’t need rector again, we need another person, Dr jimoh is a greedy person, he’s less concerned about we students, he only believe in making momey. How in this life, will he sleep and wake then the next thing is to add money to school portal.
Secondly the so called Excos are so useless, they deal with negotiations not for students welfarism

To me, the governor should have called the rector, ask for possible solutions to cub the situation, it make no sense to ask the rector to step down just like that, there should be room for dialogue, no body is perfect, even the governor is not perfect.
