Hip-hop icon Snoop Dogg has officially joined the ownership group of Championship side Swansea City, marking a bold crossover from the music world to English football.
The 53-year-old rapper, known for hits like Drop It Like It’s Hot, becomes one of the club’s high-profile investors, alongside Croatian football legend Luka Modric.
The announcement follows Snoop’s surprise appearance in Swansea’s 2025–26 kit launch, where he hinted at a deeper involvement with the Welsh club. That hint has now materialized into a formal investment.
“My love of football is well known, but it feels special to me that I make my move into club ownership with Swansea City,” Snoop said.
“This is a proud, working-class city and club. An underdog that bites back—just like me.”
The Swans confirmed the development in an official statement, welcoming Snoop as both co-owner and brand ambassador, noting his global influence and long-standing passion for football.
“Snoop Dogg has always had a deep love of sport and football in particular. His presence is expected to significantly raise the club’s international profile and boost our commercial efforts,” the club stated.
Snoop Dogg, real name Calvin Broadus—has sold over 35 million albums worldwide and spent decades at the top of the entertainment industry. His investment in Swansea reflects a growing trend of celebrity involvement in global football, aiming to bridge entertainment, branding, and sport.
