Renowned bodybuilding icon Ronnie Coleman has been hospitalized in the United States following what his family has described as a “serious medical condition.”
The 61-year-old, known globally for his unmatched dominance in professional bodybuilding, was expected to attend an event in the United Kingdom this week but had to cancel the appearance due to his health. Coleman broke the news to fans via Instagram, expressing gratitude for their support and assuring them he is receiving the best medical care.
“Hey guys, I hate to break it to y’all, but I won’t be able to make it out to the UK this week like I planned. Unfortunately, I had a medical emergency and had to stick around here in the U.S. for treatment,” Coleman wrote. “But don’t worry… I’m in great hands, getting the best care, and I’m staying strong through it all. I’ll be back and better than ever.”
Known for his upbeat spirit, the former Mr. Olympia champion ended his message with his trademark phrase, “This ain’t nothin’ but a peanut,” a motto that has long inspired his fans around the world.
Following his announcement, Coleman’s family issued a public statement confirming the seriousness of his condition but requested privacy while he focuses on recovery.
“We want to inform Ronnie’s fans, supporters, and the bodybuilding community that Ronnie Coleman was admitted to the hospital this past Sunday morning due to a serious medical condition,” the statement read. “He is currently receiving expert medical care and continues to show incredible strength and resilience.”
