Benue, Ondo and Bauchi states marked a major milestone on Monday, celebrating 49 years since their creation.
These three states, along with Anambra, Imo, Niger, and Ogun, were established on February 3, 1976, by the military administration of the late Gen. Murtala Mohammed.
To commemorate this occasion, Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa highlighted the state’s significant progress and achievements in development and prosperity. This anniversary serves as a reflection of the states’ growth and accomplishments over the years.
Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State reiterated his commitment to elevating the state’s economy and infrastructure.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Tersoo Kula, Alia outlined his administration’s efforts to revitalise Benue’s fortunes.

In commemoration of the anniversary, the Bauchi State Government reaffirmed its dedication to fostering an environment that promotes innovation, growth, and prosperity.
The state’s Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, Yakubu Adamu, highlighted Governor Bala Mohammed’s administration’s efforts in infrastructure, agriculture, healthcare, and education.
