Chinese Tech Giant Tenda Invests Over $1 Million in Nigeria, Eyes 50% Annual Growth

Chinese networking equipment manufacturer, Tenda Technology, has announced it has invested more than $1 million in Nigeria over the past year, with plans to scale up that investment by 50% annually.

This was revealed by the company’s Sell-Through Manager in Nigeria, Joseph Agema, during a product unveiling event held in Lagos in partnership with Coscharis Technologies.

Agema emphasized Nigeria’s strategic importance to Tenda, describing it as the company’s largest market in West Africa and potentially its third-largest across the continent. “The potential for this market is huge,” he said, though he acknowledged ongoing challenges including counterfeit products, grey imports, and currency volatility.

Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa at Shenzhen Tenda Technology, Chan Wills, praised Coscharis Technologies for its role in expanding Tenda’s footprint in the Nigerian market. “Without your support, we cannot be successful in this country,” he said, singling out Coscharis MD and CEO, Dr. Sunday Mukoro, for special commendation.

Mukoro reaffirmed Coscharis’ commitment to supporting its partners rather than competing with them. “If we are aware that you are bidding in a particular account, we will go there and speak for you and make sure that you win the transaction,” he assured stakeholders.

Also speaking at the event, Tenda Nigeria’s Resident Director and Country Manager, Yao Coy, disclosed that the company has sold over 200,000 devices in Nigeria in the last two years, with “almost zero return rate.” He noted that distributors benefit from a two-year warranty on Tenda products.

The company’s continued push into the Nigerian market comes as part of its broader strategy to deepen its presence across Africa and leverage the continent’s growing demand for high-quality networking solutions.
