As a symbol of continuity, the National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS), Kwara State axis, on Tuesday inaugurated the 2025 executive members of the student body, described it as a new era of leadership and unity.
The sworn in ceremony which was held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Hall, Opposite St. Anthony, GRA, Ilorin Kwara State, was overseen by Barr. Ibrahim Moshood Esq.
In his opening remarks, Founder of ZETSI, Africa, Comrade Ibrahim Razak Jeje, congratulated tye newly sworn in executive just as he recalled the historical significance and contributions of the student body.
He highlighted the association’s triumphs, challenges, and future prospects, while charging the new executives to be a reflection and inspiration of another progressive beginning.
In his speech, NUJ Chairman and keynote speaker, Lanre AbdulLateef emphasized the importance of student leadership, unity, and collective responsibility.
Mr. Lanre charged the new executives to prioritize the welfare and interests of NANS members, while promoting a culture of excellence and innovation.
Also in his lecture, the registrar of Ahmad Pategi University, Waheed Onikanhun, explored the roles of student leaders in students’ constituencies, communities, political and government affairs, reiterating the need for student leaders to be proactive, responsive, and accountable to the needs of their constituents.
In his goodwill message, the Special Adviser to Kwara State Governor on Student Affairs, Comrade Salami Wasiu encouraged the body on building a legacy that supersedes their predecessors and stakeholders, while working tirelessly to promote the interests of NANS members.
Also delivering his goodwill message, the former Chairman of NANS, Kwara axis, Comrade Saleeman Yusuf Issah emphasized the importance of unity and peaceful coexistence among the Kwara comrades’ community, while appreciating stakeholders for their unwavering support and pledged to continue providing guidance and mentorship to the new executives.
In his speech, the newly sworn in Chairman, Comr. Issa Abdulgafar expressed heartfelt gratitude to stakeholders, senators, supporters, and comrades for their unwavering support as he pledged to take the association to the next level.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by notable figures, including SUG Presidents from various institutions, such as Kwara State College of Education Ilorin, Kwara State College of Education, Oro, and Kwara State College of Health Technology, Offa. Other dignitaries present included Comr. Zakariyah Ismail (Tsmile), Comr. Super, Comr. Dolapo, Actor Finest Adigun, Comr. Salaudeen Afeez (the former secretary NANS Zone C) and the National President of IESU.
