The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr. Ahmed Audi, on Wednesday acknowledged intelligence sharing among security agencies as key to the successes already achieved in major operations to combat Nigeria security challenges.
Dr Audi praised Nigerians for sharing actionable intelligence information with security agencies, saying that the gesture helped security operatives to achieve remarkable results.
Besides the fight against terrorism tactics of asymmetric warfare, kidnapping for ransom and banditry, the NSCDC boss acknowledged intelligence information from Nigerians leading to the protection of critical national assets and infrastructures.
He said sharing intelligence with NSCDC has helped the lead agency to fulfil its mandate of safe-guarding national assets and critical infrastructures.
Audi spoke through the Public Relations Officer of the Corps, Babawale Afolabi, a Corps Commandant in a statement issued in Abuja.
The NSCDC boss further acknowledged the support and cooperation of all states Commandants, zonal Commandants, and the management team of the Corps for the success so far recorded.
Audi said since his assumption of duty as the third substantive Commandant General, the Corps have been repositioned and reinvigorated in the discharge of its statutory mandate as enshrined in the establishment Act 2003 as amended in 2007.
