Former Arsenal and Ghana international Thomas Partey has been charged with multiple serious offences, including five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has confirmed.
The charges involve three separate women and relate to alleged incidents that occurred between 2021 and 2022. According to UK outlet Daily Star, two of the rape charges stem from complaints made by one woman, three others from another, while the sexual assault charge involves a third alleged victim.
The Metropolitan Police began investigating Partey in February 2022, after receiving an initial complaint. The probe has since expanded following further allegations.
The 32-year-old midfielder, who was released by Arsenal at the end of the 2024/25 season, is expected to appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on August 5.
