The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has kicked off its nationwide Digital Literacy for All Initiative (DL4ALL), extending the programme to all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory after a successful pilot phase.
The agency revealed that during the test run, over 152,000 Nigerians across 12 states received digital skills training. Now, the goal is far more ambitious—NITDA aims to equip 70% of the population with digital know-how by 2027 and hit 95% by 2030.
Announcing the launch on its official X page, NITDA said the programme is in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which puts technology at the heart of inclusive economic development.
Far from a routine IT project, NITDA describes DL4ALL as a national mission to close digital gaps in education, employment, financial services, and online safety—especially for underserved communities.
The programme will build skills across six core areas, though the agency is yet to release specific details on those focus points.
