The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ola Olukoyede, has expressed confidence that Nigeria can overcome corruption through collective determination and commitment.
In his goodwill message to Muslims celebrating Eid-el-Fitr, delivered in Abuja on Sunday, he emphasized that tackling economic and financial crimes is achievable if Nigerians unite in their efforts.
Olukoyede reaffirmed the nation’s ability to defeat corruption, stating that Nigerians are stronger than corrupt practices and that no act of corruption can break their resolve.
He urged citizens to harness their collective strength to confront and eradicate financial crimes.
Addressing the significance of Ramadan, he encouraged Muslims to internalize its core values, self-denial, discipline, sacrifice, love, and purity, and translate them into a renewed commitment to integrity and ethical behavior.
He extended his congratulations to Muslims and prayed that the lessons of Eid-el-Fitr would inspire a greater rejection of corruption.
Reassuring Nigerians of the EFCC’s dedication to its mission, Olukoyede stated that the anti-corruption fight remains on course and is gaining momentum in curbing financial crimes.
He expressed confidence that the commission is making significant progress in its efforts to combat economic corruption nationwide.
