The Nigerian Army’s payroll transactions for 2024 reached N139.1 billion, according to data from Govspend, a platform tracking government expenditures.
Between February and October, salary disbursements for the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Army University Biu were processed through the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS).
An analysis of the figures shows that monthly payments to army personnel ranged from N11.4 billion to N20.5 billion, while allocations to the university varied between N5.5 million and N218.6 million.
The highest recorded transaction was in October, with the army receiving N21.59 billion, while the lowest was in July, at N11.43 billion.
Governor payments fluctuated throughout the year, with steady increases in September and October, signaling a rise in overall military salary expenditures.
