The Kwara State House of Assembly has officially confirmed the appointments of Mariam Nna Fatimah Imam (Edu) and Dr. Lawal Olalekan Olorungbebe (Ilorin West) as Commissioners in the State Executive Council.
During Wednesday’s plenary session, presided over by Speaker Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi Salihu, the nominees appeared before the lawmakers for screening. After thorough deliberation and scrutiny at the Committee of the Whole, the House unanimously approved their appointments.
The confirmation came in response to a request from Kwara State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, CON, who sought legislative approval to include the nominees in his cabinet.
Following the confirmation, the Speaker directed the Clerk of the House to formally communicate the decision to the Governor.
The session concluded with a motion for adjournment, moved by the House Leader, Hon. Magaji Oba Abdulkadir (Ilorin Central), and seconded by Hon. Bamigboye Joseph Olajire (Oke-Ero).
With their appointments confirmed, the newly appointed commissioners are expected to assume their roles and contribute to the governance and development of Kwara State.
