The festivities begin Saturday with an evening reception and fireworks at Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia. Thousands of supporters, conservative media figures, business leaders, and tech billionaires are expected to attend.
On Sunday, Trump will lay a wreath at Arlington National Cemetery before addressing a rally at Capital One Arena, followed by a private dinner. Vice President-elect JD Vance will host a Cabinet reception and dinner in Washington.
Inauguration Day, Monday, will begin with a prayer service at St. John’s Episcopal Church, followed by Trump’s arrival at the White House for a symbolic tea with outgoing President Joe Biden. Biden, adhering to tradition, will accompany Trump to the Capitol for the swearing-in ceremony.
Due to an Arctic cold front, Monday’s outdoor events, including the ceremony, have been moved indoors to the Capitol Rotunda. The adaptation will limit attendance, making it the coldest Inauguration Day in 40 years.
This marks a stark contrast from Trump’s first inauguration in 2017, which was met with protests and controversy. Now, his return is celebrated with greater fanfare and heightened attendance, underscoring his political resurgence.
