Construction has officially commenced on the Agbamu–Ila Orangun road, a major inter-state route linking Kwara to Osun State, as part of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure across Kwara South.
Kwara State Commissioner for Works, Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo, made this known on Tuesday during his inspection of various road projects in the region. He emphasized the government’s focus on building economically vital roads to boost rural and urban connectivity.
Among the roads inspected were the Agbamu–Ila Orangun road (handled by CPN Construction), Sabaja–Oba Isin–Owa Onire road, Palace Road in Ijagbo, and the nearly completed Ibrahim Taiwo/Popo Road in Offa. The Omu Aran–Oro Ago road is now completed, while the Esie–Arandun road is 90% done.
Engr. Olododo also announced the upcoming phased rehabilitation of the Igbaja–Oke Ode road to further enhance travel within the district.
At Agbamu, the Commissioner visited the Arigbamu of Agbamu Kingdom, Oba Samuel Olaniyi Dare, who expressed joy over the road project—something the community had awaited since 1993. He praised Governor AbdulRazaq’s trailblazing efforts and pledged his community’s full support.
The Commissioner later paid a condolence visit to the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye II, following the passing of his mother, Alhaja Hawawu Awele Gbadamosi.
Engr. Olododo was accompanied by top officials from the Ministry of Works, including Engr. Mudashirua Yusuf Oladimeji and Engr. Akanbi Moshood.
