Transfer: Chelsea recall Nicolas Jackson from Bayern loan following Delap injury

Chelsea have cancelled Nicolas Jackson’s proposed loan move to Bayern Munich after Liam Delap sustained a suspected hamstring injury during Saturday’s match against Fulham.

Delap was forced off in the first half and replaced by Tyrique George, prompting the Blues to retain Jackson as cover.
According to The Athletic, the 24-year-old Senegal international had already travelled to Germany to finalise the switch, but the Blues informed Bayern that the deal would not go ahead. Instead, Jackson has been recalled to London to provide cover in attack after Delap’s injury left Enzo Maresca short of striking options.

Jackson, who had recently faced criticism for his form and dropped down the pecking order following the arrivals of Joao Pedro from Brighton and Liam Delap from Ipswich Town, now finds himself back in Chelsea’s first-team plans.

With Delap sidelined due to injury, Jackson is expected to remain with the squad and provide much-needed depth in attack alongside Joao Pedro, Willian Estevao, and other forwards.

Chelsea have yet to disclose the expected duration of Delap’s absence.
