In a significant effort to bolster the relationship between the Nigerian Army and the premier tertiary institution in the state, the Commander of the 22 Armoured Brigade, Nigerian Army, Sobi, Brigadier General E. B. Barkins today paid a visit to Kwara State Polytechnic.
The visit which reaffirms the institution’s commitment to fostering a strong relationship with the Nigerian Army is aimed at enhancing the synergy between the two organizations, thereby ensuring a secure environment that promotes academic excellence.
In his remarks, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Engr. Dr. Abdul Jimoh Muhammed expressed gratitude for the Army’s support in maintaining peace within and around the institution.
He praised the soldiers deployed to the Polytechnic for their dedication and hard work, acknowledging the crucial role they play in safeguarding the learning environment.
The Rector reiterated the Polytechnic’s readiness to collaborate with the Nigerian Army to strengthen its security architecture, noting that the partnership is essential in creating a conducive atmosphere for students to thrive.
Earlier in his address, Brigadier Barkins disclosed that the visit underscores the importance of collaboration between educational institutions and security agencies in fostering a secure and stable environment that supports academic pursuits.
He said by working together, the Polytechnic and the Nigerian Army can ensure a peaceful and conducive atmosphere for students to excel.
