A coalition under the banner of Rivers Women United for Sim (RWUS) staged a peaceful protest in Port Harcourt on Thursday, demanding the return of suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the restoration of peace in Rivers State.
The women described Rivers as a peaceful state and urged President Bola Tinubu to intervene in the lingering political crisis.
The group, turning out en-masse, demanded the reinstatement of all suspended elected officials, insisting that Fubara had committed no wrongdoing to justify his suspension.
Chanting songs of solidarity, the women identified themselves as mothers and wives, making a heartfelt appeal to President Tinubu to lift Governor Fubara’s suspension and restore all democratic institutions in Rivers State.
