A 42-year-old herbalist, Adepoju Ifaleke, has been arraigned in an Oyo State court for allegedly exhuming and interfering with a dead body.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge, which stems from an incident on April 9 at a mining camp in Iseyin.
Owolabi alleged that the defendant indecently interfered with a human corpse by exhuming it and removing some bones and hair, leading to his arrest.
He said the offence contravened Section 242 (1) (b) of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Miss G.I. Oladele admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She thereafter, adjourned the case until May 12 for a hearing.
