The Kwara State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has introduced a free vehicle safety inspection program for motorists across the state.
Speaking in Ilorin on Monday, FRSC Sector Commander Muftau Irekeola announced that the initiative would take place from March 17 to 20. He emphasized that the goal is to assess vehicle roadworthiness and enhance driving safety.
Personnel have been stationed at key locations, including major roads and motor parks, to facilitate the process. Irekeola encouraged drivers to participate and address any potential safety concerns.
“We have also involved field operators and officials from relevant state ministries to support the exercise,” he noted.
Additionally, the FRSC will provide guidance on proper vehicle maintenance to promote road safety. The public is advised to cooperate with the team, as the initiative is entirely free and non-punitive.
Irekeola commended road users who adhere to traffic regulations and urged others to make necessary adjustments based on the FRSC’s findings.
