FIFA Rankings: Nigeria rises to 43rd globally, Argentina stays at top

The latest FIFA ranking places Nigeria 43rd in the world, improving one spot from its previous 44th position.

This rise follows the Super Eagles’ victory over Rwanda in their World Cup qualification campaign.

Argentina remains the top-ranked team, followed by Spain, France, England, and Brazil in the top five.

Morocco has moved ahead of Senegal to become Africa’s top team, ranking 12th globally, while Senegal is now 19th.

Egypt and Algeria rank 32nd and 36th globally, securing third and fourth in Africa, respectively. Côte d’Ivoire climbed five spots to 41st globally and 5th in Africa.

At 43rd Nigeria is two spots below the African champions and sixth in Africa, followed by Tunisia who move three places up to 49th and seventh among Confederation of African Football (CAF) teams.

The next rankings will be released on July 10.
