Security operatives in Enugu State have recorded a major breakthrough as the Department of State Services (DSS) arrested five suspected high-profile kidnappers linked to multiple abductions in the state.
Acting on intelligence, the DSS operatives tracked the suspects to their hideouts in two separate locations on Wednesday. The arrested individuals allegedly confessed to collecting ransom from victims’ families and were found in possession of large sums of money, weapons, and other dangerous items.
Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, praised the DSS for the operation and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to eliminating criminal networks. He assured residents that the DSS, in collaboration with the military, police, and state forest guards, would continue hunting down other fleeing members of the gang while dismantling their camps across the state.
