A corps member serving in Ilorin South Local Government Area of Kwara State has initiated a community development project aimed at upgrading the public toilet facility in Onikanga Village to modern standards.
Adeyeye Joshua Adejare, with NYSC state code KW/24C/0117 and currently serving at Flow FM 92.7, is spearheading this initiative as part of his Personal Community Development Service (CDS) project, dubbed the “CEEJAY Community Personal Development Project.”

Inspired by his interactions with the community and driven by a passion to leave a lasting impact, Joshua explained that the project seeks to transform the outdated public toilet into a modern facility that embodies dignity, hygiene, and comfort.
The proposed renovation will include upgrading the structure to a water-system toilet, installing a 1,500-litre water tank linked to the community borehole, tiling, painting, and providing proper doors and fittings.

To ensure the project’s success, Joshua has engaged with community leaders, mobilized fellow corps members, and established support teams for on-ground work and media awareness. He is also soliciting financial and material contributions from individuals, organizations, and corporate sponsors.
The project which has commenced on August 25, 2025, and is expected to be completed by October 5, 2025, the project is expected to enhance hygiene standards, provide a modern sanitation facility, and contribute to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 6) on Clean Water and Sanitation.
Joshua emphasized that the project goes beyond constructing a toilet; it aims to restore dignity, promote hygiene, and build a healthier community.
In their reaction, community leaders in Onikanga have welcomed the initiative and pledged their support, recognizing its potential to benefit present and future generations.
However, Joshua called on well-meaning individuals, organizations, and institutions to support the project, stating, “Together, we can make this a reality and leave behind a legacy of service and impact.”
