Members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Batch B, Stream II, camping in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja NYSC Orientation Camp, Kubwa are reportedly facing a tough time due to inadequate accommodation and mattresses at the Kubwa orientation camp.
It was gathered that the camp is overwhelmed, with over five thousand (5,000) corp members posted there, exceeding its capacity of four (4,000), which has resulted in a shortage of hostels and beds, causing hardship for the corp members
As at Friday, 24th January, it was reported more corp members are still arriving at the camp to register, further increasing congestion.
However, the State Coordinator, Mrs. Winifred Shokpeka who expressed concern over the development, revealed that measures are being implemented to ensure that all corp members have a comfortable stay during their 21 days training in the camp.
This situation highlights some of the challenges faced by corp members, including inadequate facilities and overcrowding. Meanwhile, despite the NYSC management efforts to address these issues, more efforts will be needed to ensure the comfort and well-being of corp members during their service.
