Two unidentified Nollywood actors have tragically died in Owerri, Imo State, after reportedly consuming rice, wine, and Calypso at a house party.
The incident occurred last Friday following a film shoot, when some crew members gathered at a director’s residence. Two other individuals were found unconscious at the scene and are currently receiving treatment in a hospital. Authorities have yet to release official details regarding the cause of the incident.
Conflicting accounts have emerged. A man identified as Kaito Karisia claimed: “The host’s story is incoherent. He said he left them in the parlor and went to bed. Around 4 a.m., he woke up to switch over to NEPA, and when he entered the parlor, he found one person dead and others unconscious. He then raised the alarm.”
Imo State Police Public Relations Officer, Henry Okoye, confirmed the incident, stating that two individuals were pronounced dead while two others are hospitalized.
Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, has directed a pathologist to determine the cause of death, with results guiding subsequent actions. Additionally, some arrests have been made among the crew, including directors and others.
