Former Manchester United striker, Wayne Rooney, has expressed his lack of confidence in current manager Ruben Amorim, following the club’s 3-1 loss to Brentford last Saturday.
With just two league wins so far and an early Carabao Cup exit at the hands of Grimsby Town, United currently sit 14th on the table, a position Rooney finds troubling.
Speaking on the Wayne Rooney Show, he said:
“Ruben Amorim is my age, maybe a bit younger,he’s still a young manager, and I’m sure he has a great future ahead of him. But what is going on at Manchester United? I don’t even recognise the football club anymore.”
Rooney believes Amorim’s time at Old Trafford may be running out if results don’t improve soon.
“I honestly hope he can turn it round and he does. But if you’re saying to me, ‘do you believe he will?’, then, after everything I’ve seen, honestly, I’ve got no faith in it.”
